- Candidates must have recognised sports achievements at national/international events. The achievements should be verifiable through certificates issued by recognised state or national sports federations.
- SECR gives weightage based on the level of competition, such as Olympics, national championships, inter-university levels, and selections representing states or federations.
- Achievements must be valid and obtained on or before the application closing date.
Age Limit:
- Generally, candidates should be between 18 and 25 years as of 01 July 2026.

Selection Process
The selection for SECR Sports Quota is merit-based, considering both athletic performance and educational background:
- Sports Trials (40 marks): Candidates undergo performance trials evaluated by officers and coaches. Minimum qualifying marks are required to be eligible.
- Sports Achievements (50 marks): Weightage is given for higher-level performance (national/international medals and participation).
- Educational Qualification (10 marks): Marks awarded based on minimum academic credentials.
Final merit is prepared based on the combined total of 100 marks, and candidates meeting the qualifying marks for their pay level are shortlisted for appointments.
